we redid the back entry.
Due to my need for recognition, I will proceed to list what was done to get from before to after….
before:
wallpaper pulled off (amazingly easy, I assume due to length of years in place… We are estimating 30-50 years. Faux tile board pulled away, again easy and very rewarding snap/breaking action. many years of grime, including wallpaper glue was washed using ammonia and Tri-sodium phosphate (minus phosphate) stuff recommended on the world wide web, all in spray bottle with boiling hot water.

Not so easy, but brad suggested this handy tool which was sold as a pan scraper but worked great as a grime scraper

repaint trim and ceiling.

trip to Home Depot for cork board tiles and Ikea provided dog butt coat hangers and throw rug

Still need to remove paint from floor trim, repaint and retrim wall borders. replace outside door frame and screen door, but we are very happy with the results so far.

+ yard clippings …
very exciting!!!
There are a lot of cats in our neighborhood. We call this one Fatty. He used to hang out on top of the pile of carpet padding in the garage (the door doesn’t quite close all the way). You can’t tell from the photo, but he’s really, really fat. We were worried that we had a pregnant cat in our garage, but don’t worry, he’s just morbidly obese. I finally started throwing away all the old carpet so his perch is gone and he doesn’t come around as often.
